Do we still have Xenophobia?

Do we still have Xenophobia?

The answer you are looking for is yes.

Yes, Xenophobia still exists, which is hard to understand, because we as a country have recently been Grey listed and individuals are scattering around looking for alternative countries to move and live in to. Given your new country would you want the same treatment received given to our Migrants in South Africa? This is an important topic as Xenophobia has been present in our country and as someone who believes in fair chances, why not include everyone in the little or most that we have.

Social Media can overcome this debacle, in this time and age most of us have a cellphone that we cannot live without as our daily lives have become integrated into our mobiles, whereas we must check our emails, WhatsApp and Messages regularly.

Social Media can plan and initiate action to Xenophobia.

  1. We could initiate walks and peaceful strikes to show that we are against Xenophobia, and it is a topic that should not be ignored.

  1. Make Migrants feel welcome, and our judgment should not be based on stereotype

These are the types of content we should be seeing on social media instead of the negatives, which are always preyed upon.

Instead, we view Migrants as a Threat and place them as the reason behind our unemployment rise, which may and may not be true, but same as you they are making ends meet, if not giving migrants jobs, do we prefer they become homeless, as they are not a part of us? The problem is not on Migrants, jobs must be created to accommodate all of us, and a fair chance should be given to all of us, just maybe may the unemployment rate fall...What do we Think?

Here are the statistics of migrants to give an insight to the question been asked above, and tell me what you think? Xenophobia is on the rise in SA: scholars weigh in on the migrant question (ewn.co.za)

  1. This is an important topic your raising because Xinophobia affects a lot of people. I think people should engage with this topic more.

  2. I also think the topic should be engaged more as Xenophobia has been around for years. We still blame outsiders for not having jobs, instead off all coming together for ideas to create jobs.

  3. There's still a lot that needs to be changed in regards to the perception some people have about the outsiders. Ey it's gonna be a long journey.

  4. I agree with your comment. Personally, I think the Perception of people in our country might change if there is enough of where there is a shortage of, like jobs, water, electricity. Otherwise, why would the people of South Africa complain.
